- The global cannabis market is forecasted to grow notably over the next several years. Although there are still a lot of debates on the misuses of cannabis, the proven various benefits have resulted in the increasing trend of legalization.
- In Thailand, the legalization of cannabis provides huge business opportunities throughout the supply chain, ranging from research and development, cultivation, extraction/processing and supporting businesses. Especially, hemp industry that has more relaxed regulations and actively supported by the government have attracted a number of investors. Many Thai investors have invested in downstream business and developed new hemp-based products, especially food and cosmetics. Foreign investors can participate the industry with some restrictions. Therefore, local partnerships are necessary.
